Jason, before wasting time and blurting something out, try reading the section that someone is talking about first. The M574 command given is made to work with the example given in the BLTouch documentation above. The M280 I gave does not need to be written that exact way, but it works with the example given in the documentation above. All of these are strictly relevant to this article. I was able to get my printer working, so I do not need support. This article should be edited appropriately with regards to M574 in RRF 3.
A BL Touch will not function without properly configuring it with M574, this was not described in the tutorial. As per the example, the correct configuration would be:
M574 Z1 S2 P"zprobe.in"
Bltouch does not work without: M574 Z1 S2 P"zprobe.in" ;
It would have saved me a lot of time if you mentioned the above and included the actually M280 commands.
M280 P"exp.heater3" S10 ; deploy BLTouch
M280 P"exp.heater3" S90 ; retract BLTouch
This tutorial has a critical oversight.
G10 P2 X50 Y0 U-50 S0 R0 ; set tool offsets and temperatures
Changing the X value will cause the printer to lose track of the edge of the print surface. The full offset for duplicate printing MUST be in the U parameter. Such as:
G10 P2 X0 Y0 U-100 S0 R0 ; set tool offsets and temperatures
